May It Not Be So, 2025

Hand-woven tapestry on scaffolding. Worsted wool, cotton, iridescent foil, and steel, 206 x 235 x 95 (tapestry 162 x 213 cm).

An anti-war spell, written in binary code, is hidden in a composition of drops. The yarn is made with a repurposed iridescent curtain, a party decoration previously used for my daughter’s birthday. The work meditates on the unrepresentable horror of war, in a time where the impact of new technologies is both precisely calculated and highly unpredictable.
